My happy smile

My name is Susan from Kenya. I am the PR and Marketing Assistant at KISC. My week has been as awesome as everyday I spend her in the Swiss Alps. One of the fans of this blog (my mother) was recently convinced that I did not smile and that might have been the reason why the Smile of the week electing too long... So here I am mama, I am laughing instead.
I do smile a lot and find gladness in the very little things in life, that has earned me the smile of the week this week. As you can see from my photo, I am a happy person thus my wide smile which many confuse it for a laugh. Now the big problem is choosing the thing that made me smile this week...hmmmh

Now, I love reading, meaning I can read a scientific novel, despite the jargon, for the benefit of learning something new. so this week, I came across a blog about mash mellows. Apparently, there is a mash mellow theory that goes like this: Researchers gave children aged 9 years mash mellows on condition that if they held on their mash mellows for two hours, they would receive one more. I tend to think most of the children ate their immediately. So after some years, the researchers tracked down those children who did not eat their mash mellows and were rewarded with one more. These children had grown to be goal oriented and focused based on the reward and satisfaction that they would derive from a goal.

So what is the moral of this sharing, to me, it means that we should never lose sight of the big picture that is our goals. Challenges may lie our way, procrastination may tempt us but focus is essential. Just by reading this, I was even more happy than I was before. I will leave you with a quote from one Denis Waitley; A smile is the light in your window that tells others that there is a caring, sharing person inside.
