Smile of a fresh Pinkie

Smiling has been so easy for me this week, as well as for all the new Pinkies, as we started our training for the Summer season. The adventure has started and everyone keeps smiling in every corner. You can see us smiling while learning about safety, catering, reception, the fire alarm or how to lead hikes up to the Alps.

For me KISC was a complete new discovery. Last week was my first time in Switzerland as well as in this wonderful scout centre. The first thing you notice once you arrive is the amazing nature all around. Every picture you take, no matter how bad you are as a photographer, looks like a beautiful postcard bought in a souvenir shop. Standing in the entrance, looking outside the toilet window or walking to the town are little moments of pleasure that I will not forget.

But what makes KISC special, without any doubts, is the staff. KISC is a place where you are going to feel welcomed. Everybody is here to help, everyone has the same values, everyone knows how important volunteering is, and everyone is DOING scouting. The Long Term Staff make you feel at home and the 33 new Pinkies become a family in a matter of two or three days.

I truly believe that I found the right place to be.
