Hola gente!
I am Aldi from Buenos Aires, the capital of the southest country in the world, Argentina, where America finishes. And no, I can’t dance “tango” and I love “dulce de leche” (something like Nutella, but better!) more than anything else in the world. And before everything let me say: YEEEEEEEES TAMY (my older sister)! I’M HEREEEEEE! I AM SMILE OF THE WEEEEEEEEK!
Sorry… I’m working in Chalet Services and I have to admit: IT IS THE BEST DEPARTMENT! (Sorry Programme, sorry Campsite, it’s the truth!). Working at Chalet Services could be really fun! Especially if we have “water fight” in the “chicken” (‘cause I call “chicken” to the “kitchen” and “kitchen” to the “chicken). But yes, I have to admit, it could be a challenge too, especially if you have never cooked even a pizza and here we have to make SOUPS. Yes, I can’t prepare soups, I can’t deny. It could be quite challenging just because the first thing I had to do was chopping onions, and guess what? I CUT MY FINGER! On the other hand, working at in Shop and House could be awesome too! More if you have to work at the Campsite Shop during the morning,THE TILL NEVER WORKS and the guests think “OH MY GOD! WHAT IS SHE DOING?” and I have to say “No no, no worries, It never works at the morning”. So, if someone asks me what I like about here I have to say: EVERYTHING, even the daily cleaning if we are working at House. This place is amazing! Every morning I wake up with the fantastic view of the Swiss Alps, I go to sleep with the sound of the River Kander and rarely we can see how cows walk through the street.
Here at KISC I’m famous for “Rock spooning”, a new alpine discipline, for “my socks” and famous for talking to myself in Spanish… nobody can’t understand me and when I try to explain, it’s quite fun because “argentinian translate” it’s sooooooo different! Maybe I’m famous for being always dancing and singing too!, especially during my work in both Shops (Chalet and Campsite), but the best is when I’m working at the Chalet Shop, while I’m dancing and I don’t realize than behind me are the offices… and yes, everybody see me dancing.
Anyway, I have to say that being here is one of the best experiences I will have in my all life and that is why I smile. I smile because I am here, having one of the most interesting experience of my life, because I am living the dream of the “Permanent Jamboree”. I smile because this year I will have two Summer Christmas (the first was on 10th) and because I was part of the 90 Jubilee of KISC. I smile because I have new friends and I smile because I have been part of the amazing 1st of August. I just smile because I am living MY DREAM. So, thanks for choose my smile this week, that actually it’s something that I always do… ¡gracias! (Yeeeeeeeah Tamy*, I’m here and this is for you!)
And I will give you a little advice that my mom always says to me: “¡Sé feliz!” (Be happy!).
¡Siempre Lista!
Aldi (AR)
